Scripture
Study for the week of January 15th, 2006
Those who are blessed by the Holy Spirit to rest the remission of their sins in the work of Christ’s redemption upon the cross are to confess their belief by being baptized and living a life observing all things whatsoever the Lord commands (Mt 28:19-20). This includes dedication to personal godliness, family responsibilities, and edification of the local congregation.
“For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come” (1 Tim. 4:8).
“Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them. Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged” (Col. 3:18-21).
“Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another” (Romans 14:19).
