Scripture Study for the week of  June 13th, 2006

One’s life in and service to the Lord Jesus Christ is to often thought of as dull, restrictive, and oppressive. Jesus Christ however summed up his teaching by saying, “These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full” (Jn 15:11). More . . .

The Christian life properly understood and lived is not a life of gray. The Son of God stated that “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy”. Has the thief been lurking near our door? Jesus then said, “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10). “The kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field” (Matthew 13:44). May the Lord help each of us with the joy and purchase of heavenly commodities.
