Joy, contrary to putting self first, is self sacrifice in behalf of others, “Yea, and if I be offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all. For the same cause also do ye joy, and rejoice with me” (Philippians 2:17-18). More . . .
When we sacrifice ourselves for the sake of others, and we are around those who do the same, joy is spread all around. Paul received blessing in Timothy’s sacrifice for the Philippians, “For I have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your state. For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ’s” (Philippians 20-21). Imagine what a blessing and joy homes, offices, and churches would be if selfishness was replaced with self sacrifice in service to others. Let it begin.
