Scripture Study for the week of October 23rd, 2006

Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice” (Phil 4:4). To rejoice in God is but to contemplate His great character and work. “Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore” (Ps 16:11). More . .

“The glory of the LORD shall endure for ever: the LORD shall rejoice in his works” (Ps 104:31). “And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying” (Isa 65:19). God is a God of joy. A. W. Tozer said, “We tend by a secret law of the soul to move toward our mental image of God”. To meditate upon the greatness of the Lord is to rejoice in Him always.
