Study for the week of November 14th, 2006
The book of Philippians teaches us that the highest reward for a man’s toil is not what he get’s for it, but rather what he becomes by it. Each of us must inquire what we are becoming by the life we are living. To live for Christ is to become like Christ. More . . .
Let us “press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus” (Ph 3:14). Paul has taught us that sincerely and humbly in all difficulty we are to reliably live for God’s community by promoting unity. Such a life of service to God is a life of integrity and brings the most true and full joy this life can offer. “Let us therefore, as many as be perfect (i.e. spiritually mature) be thus minded” (Ph 3:15). Amen.
